Newsflash

Hey everyone. I finally got to see the new plastic kettlebells. The quality of the materials and construction is very good. The design/shape of the larger ones within the set is not quite what I would've done.

I think the 18kg & 20kg handles are unmanageably thick. The 2-16kg ones are OK.

Because I don't like 'em, you get to score a bargain. The set consists of a 2,4,6,8,10,12,14,16,18,20kg. Originally they were going to sell for R2475 (R22.50/kg). However, I have decided that the price will be changed. You pay for the 2-16kg, and get the 18kg & 20kg for free. Price for a complete set is R1650, so it works out at R15/kg.

Kettlebell Instructor certifications & Kettlebells workshops

Kettlebells South Africa now offers certifications authorised/recognised by Steve Cotter & the IKFF.

Information about international certifications is available here

With the exception of the Level 0 KB user, the focus of each of the courses is “train-the-trainer”.

Teaching is not specifically aimed at correcting the techniques of the trainers. The focus is on HOW to teach, what to look for (problems & troubleshooting), what to focus on & how to fix problems(corrective techniques). If you'd like to get involved in teaching kettlebells... Contact us

KBSA Level 1 (KSI-1: Kettlebell Basics – Instructor Level 1)

In my opinion, there are four basic/essential lifts that all beginners must master before they move on to more advanced techniques.

These are:

  • clean

  • press (basic/strict)

  • snatch

KBSA Level 2 (KSI-2: Advanced Kettlebells – Instructor Level 2)

More advanced techniques to add to level 1.

  • advanced press (chair press,push press,side press,bent press etc)

  • jerk (O.A.J & jerk proper)

  • squat (goblet, double KB, overhead)

  • windmill

  • TGU (all 3 variations)

  • abdominal exercises

  • pistol

  • H2H/juggling basics

  • Body weight exercises etc

Prerequisite=KSI-1
